Next week I will join thousands of other IT professionals at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2012 in Orlando.
I have been to Symposium and ITxpo many times before, in many different roles, and it never disappoints. There is so much to see and hear and do, so many people to meet, so much technology to check out, and so many ways to learn about the changing role of IT and business. I will be racing at 100 miles an hour every day just to take it all in!
I am especially looking forward to the Symposium keynotes, and of course hearing what the industry movers and shakers from Gartner and others have to say. This conference perhaps more than any other seems to set an agenda for CIOs in the coming 12 months, so it is exciting to be there again to hear it for myself.
The ITxpo is also a buzz, from opening bell to closing drinks, with all the vendors showing off their latest wares. CA Technologies will have a massive presence there, showing off all our solutions. I will be there too, hanging with my colleagues and talking with attendees, but I also plan to take some time to check out the exciting and interesting exhibitors throughout the ITxpo.
A couple of quick shameless plugs:
First, I am presenting some ideas on how you can deliver innovation at the speed of business, on Wednesday Oct. 24 at 7pm ET in ITxpo Theater C (in the Exhibit Hall). Please take some time out from the food and drink to come along and see me. It is in the middle of the Expo dinner, so you will already be there anyway, right?
Second, I am on the official list of CA Technologies Executives who are available for meetings. I would love to talk about what we are doing, where we are heading, and how we are getting there. Or more generally about innovation, cloud, virtualization, automation, DevOps, big data, mobility, social media, data centers, or anything else (just get me started on cycling, skiing, travel, or food!). Log into the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo website, go to “Networking,” choose “Contact Exhibitors,” and look for me under CA Technologies. Or just e-mail or tweet me and we can set it up directly.
Third, I will be live-tweeting highlights of the conference (from @AndiMann), and blogging here on Perspectives and on my personal blog (pleasediscuss.com/andimann), so stay tuned and I will try to bring you at least some of the conference, even if you cannot be there in person.
If you are attending and just building out your schedule (like me!), consider a few of the sessions below featuring our customers as well as our subject matter experts in the areas of Security, Service Assurance, Service Virtualization and Infrastructure Management.
You also can find CA Technologies in the exhibit hall at Booth 2 in the Atlantic Hall and at Booth 1105 in the Pacific Hall.
See you at the conference!

This session will highlight decision points organizations should consider when selecting which option is best for their business.
